Geothermal HVAC cuts operating costs for commercial buildings
Commercial building owners are tapping into the power of geothermal heating and cooling for energy savings and occupant comfort.
At the 2016 AHR Expo, Alan Niles, commercial sales regional manager at WaterFurnace International, reviewed some of the latest developments for commercial geothermal systems.
Niles noted that the WaterFurnace line of commercial variable capacity water source and geothermal systems are available in 2-6 ton as well as 10 and 15 ton models with a small footprint.
He said the commercial variable capacity product features Aurora Advanced Controls with true energy, refrigeration, and optional performance monitoring as well as the optional Aurora UPC DDC Controls to integrate into building automation systems.
With a capacity range of 20-100%, the WaterFurnace variable capacity system will scale its output to what a building actually needs, maximizing occupant comfort levels, Niles said.
