Smart fans provide efficient alternative to air conditioning
A Massachusetts developer has introduced a new line of smart fans designed to simplify indoor air quality.
AirMotion Sciences Inc., maker of high-volume, low-speed fans known as Big Smart Fans, recently unveiled Big Simple Fans, according to a press release.
Both lines of fans feature small, energy-efficient motors and are used for cooling, heat de-stratification, ventilation and as alternatives to air conditioning in large facilities. The industrial ceiling fans offer improved performance over traditional fans, but with greater versatility to reduce energy costs and environmental stress while enhancing comfort and productivity.
The Big Simple Fans come with simpler features that move and mix air, enabling it to be moved equally effectively up or down, AirMotion founder and CEO Peter Caruso said.
The Big Simple Fans feature 3 horsepower motors, aluminum gear reducers, variable frequency drives and makes use of the proprietary control software in its low voltage fan controllers to allow manual to fully automatic operation using built in temperature sensors. In addition, the Big Simple Fans have powerful extruded aluminum blades and pitch angles that were carefully engineered for their effectiveness in blowing air equally well upward and downward with low turbulence and maximum impact.
