LG offers extended warranties on energy efficient HVAC products

April 28, 2017 | by Steve Arel

Long touting the durability of its energy efficient HVAC solutions, LG Electronics is further hailing the longevity of that equipment.

The company has extended its limited liability warranty to 10 years for parts and compressors on qualified systems from five to seven years, including its award-winning VRF systems and single and multi-zone split product lines that are mainstays in residential and light commercial settings.

The new coverage is effective this month, the company said.

The move shows LG’s confidence in its products.

“The expanded warranty program is part of our commitment to the marketplace in order to support our industry-leading technologies in the field,” said Tom Pivovar, director of aftermarket operations for LG Air Conditioning Technologies. “LG truly believes in the reliability of our systems and by extending warranties, we want to pass along that confidence to our customers so they can better serve the end-users.”

In addition to the extended limited warranty, LG Excellence Contractors will now benefit from an additional two-year parts and two-year compressor warranty for qualifying residential/light commercial systems, extending their standard limited liability warranty to 12 years for the parts and compressor.

The warranty expansions comes as LG launches a new online product registration platform. Designed to not only streamline registration for contractors, the online interface also enables end-users to register their eligible systems within 60 days of startup. In creating a more efficient registration process, LG will have better insight into product installations and gain valuable data for future product development, officials said.
