The future is now

Developers talk all the time about the future. For those in the air conditioning, heating and refrigeration industry, the future is now.

As the annual AHR Expo 2017 nears, scores of companies are gearing up to showcase a host of new products aimed at bringing efficiencies to businesses worldwide.

More than 2,000 exhibitors from 35 countries will set up displays on the floor of the Las Vegas Convention Center, which will feature 30 percent more exhibit space than the 2016 event.

ASHRAE, which puts on the expo set for Jan. 31-Feb. 1, already has established an extensive online gallery that enables browsers to pore through a list of participating companies and get a peek at their featured products through videos and detailed overviews.

In addition, the event will feature more than 100 new product and technology presentations.

“It’s exciting to see such enthusiasm around the rebounding North American building and construction industry, and subsequent growth in demand for the latest evolution of products, technologies and services the HVACR industry has to offer,” said Clay Stevens, president of International Exposition Co., which also organizes the AHR event. “With this resurgence, a spirit of ingenuity and creativity has flourished among HVACR manufacturers, and we’re pleased to present the venue at which the results of this will be displayed for 2017.”

AHR has long billed itself as more than just a product showcase. It also provides opportunities for professional development and networking.

The annual ASHRAE conference precedes the expo in Las Vegas. The conference offers some 200 professional developed hours recognized by most U.S. states, AIA LUs and LEED AP credits through ASHRAE Learning Institute course and technical program sessions.
